Drawing in Church--Cover to Cover Sermon Series

We just finished the Old Testament (cover to cover Series) at Church, and now have started into the NEW Testament which of course starts with the Virgin Birth of Christ.
These are my notes (and watercolor sketches) for December 13, 2015.  I now am starting into my 6th Watercolor Sketchbook of Notes & pics.

"Drawing in Church" Worship Service Notes

Haven't posted my " sermon notes " for awhile.  This is our "Cover to Cover" series by our Pastor Brent.  Also, our Minister of Music was Ordained ("Set Apart for Ministry") in this morning Worship Service.

Watercolor/Journaling Class BayView MI (Petoskey area)

I did this in Watercolor/Journaling Class in Bay View, MI.  This was a window on a summer home in Bay
View.
So fun to get together with friends from previous Classes-- &
Catherine Carey (Artist/Teacher) from Petoskey, Michigan.

These are some Crocuses I watercolored from my yard....thought I would get them out and post them since they are up and the weather has improved here in SE Michigan.

These are my Sermon notes from Palm Sunday...The "kids" did special music for the Service, marching in with Palm Branches.

We did Bravo this week--Ravioli Day--Half Off!

We did Bravo this week--had the
Lobster Ravioli--Yum!
It was Ravioli Day and all Ravioli dishes were 50% off.  Can't beat that!  :-)    Restaurants seem to like dimming the lights so much that I need to use my "flashlight" on my i Phone......I KNOW it's not my age or anything????  :-)
I did these pictures on two different visits--the two ladies sat across the aisle from us.

March 1st - The Sovereignty of God

Our Pastor is on a well-deserved vacation--Our "Young Adults" Pastor delivered the Sermon today.  Well done, Jimmy!  We are still knee-deep in snow and cold....and ready for Spring (yep, this month!)  Hope it comes in like a lamb......  :-)

Across the aisle at Carrabba's Restaurant

Went to Carrabba's Restaurant several nights ago and tried to sketch some of the
guests at the next table.  Like I said, not much to sketch these days because we are always trying to keep out of the cold :-)

Cover to Cover Sermon Notes

It seems I'm not doing too much sketching/watercoloring these days besides taking Sermon Notes in Church.  It has been so cold and snowy--that we "stay in" keeping warm, etc.  It's all white outside (snow) so not much to sketch that is new.  Well, I do try to keep the "notes" colorful.

Cover to Cover Series My Sermon Notes

Pastor is teaching the Book of Daniel in the series "Cover to Cover" (going thru the whole Bible) by subject.  I like to take notes to keep me focused, and Drawing in Church is interesting....  We have had some really cold temperatures here in SE Michigan.  This morning when we left for Church, it was minus 9 degrees :-)

Drawing in Church January 11, 2015

I haven't posted for so long--I almost forgot how to do it!  The weather is very "wintery" and not much color outside, thus not too many sketches.  So I decided to post Sunday's Church-Notes.
We are doing a series called "Cover to Cover" going thru the whole Bible (in chunks, or by subject).
This week we were studying the book of Obadiah (it's all of one chapter in length).
I try to list the Hymns we sing and then do an Outline as the Pastor is teaching.
Sometimes I draw the choir, or the Soloist, maybe even some of the Orchestra -- if they are "on" that Sunday :-)  I watercolor at home (it would draw too much attention if I did it while sitting in the pew :-)

Thanksgiving Dudes

I saw this picture on FaceBook and thought it was so cute--especially since these little "dudes" are such PESTS in the summertime.....they dig up flowers, bury stuff in my landscaping, and are generally undesirable!  But, the picture is cute, and they are hibernating (probably burrowing under our Garage floor???)

ONE Leaf

I went out to the front porch after Cliff had raked and blown all the leaves away....but one lone leaf was there--so I brought it in and watercolored a facsimile--just for the record. Yukky, rainy day today, tomorrow is supposed to be Sunny :-)

Fall Colors

The Colors this season (Fall) have been outstanding!  Our Backyard is full of Maple Trees.  In fact all over our Chestnut Ridge Subdivision we have Maples and the views have been wonderful!
I couldn't possibly capture all of it, but here are a few of the reds & yellows.  Sadly, the leaves are all down now and the eaves troughs are full :-)

Monday, 15 September 2014

I made this sign on my computer and put it in my Car Window!  So tired of people zipping thru parking lots with a phone in their ear....or holding up traffic while they chat on and on.  Got a few "thumbs up" too :-)

BUTTONS

I was going through some of  my older sketchbook journals, and came across one of my favorites.  I had selected buttons of different sizes and colors from my "button collection" (doesn't everyone have one of these???)  I did lay them out and sketched and watercolored them--for some reason, I really like this display :-)

Roaring Fork Nature Trail Drive GSMNP

This is a sketch of one of our favorite scenic drives in the Smokies.  It's about Ten Miles around (?) One Way, and very narrow and hilly!  But the views are wonderful and historical.  I did this last Spring and never posted it....  I tried to picture all the interesting places along the way.  Love the Smokie Mountains and everything we used to do like Hiking to Mt. LeConte, etc.
We are "past the age" of hikes now, but still enjoy the Mountains.  Just posted this on a whim--as I said, it's about a year old.  :-)

Sketchbook Watercolor Journaling

Our first day in Class (Bay View, MI) we sketched in front of the Memorial Chapel.
(Outdoors, of course).  Then I sat in front of a Pipe-Railing beside some flowers.
The third picture is a practice of fences, flowers,  and rocks.
We only had to paint "inside" one day--because of the rain and wind (and cool).
I always need to practice "looseness" (in painting, that is :-)

Wisdom from Bella

My daughter  "Dog-Sits" for her Son when the 'need' arises.  This is such a fun pet--enthusiastic about everything!!!
After having Bella for a few days, she came up with what she learned :-) from Bella.....I call it "Wisdom from Bella."
(BTW: Bella is my "Grand-Dog :-)  Read thru it, you'll get a big smile.
You may need to "click" on it to make it bigger  :-)
