Yellow

Many of the empty fields and natural areas here are full of these flowers. I had to look on Google to identify these tiny yellow ones--I knew they weren't Dandelions (that season is over). These up close look like tiny snapdragons but are very bright yellow--and you can spot them all over the wild grassy areas. Lots of HawkWeed and Black-eyed Susans.

"He loves me, He loves me not--He Loves Me!!!"

Right now there are tons of (Wildflower) Daisies blooming along the roadsides, and the easiest thing to do is a contour drawing and watercolor it later! I wish these daisies were as prolific in our little "woods" as they are along the roadside. I guess they get loads of sun by growing out in the open among the weeds.

Blue Flower Can

This Blue Can with a few flowers in it (next to a fence) caught my eye...so here it is. Enjoying all the colorful flowers around these days and it's the first day of Summer (wish it would last all year!)

Pot of Begonias

Went to Sam's Club yesterday and this pot of Begonias (with Variegated Ivy trails) called me as I walked by! Who could resist? I put them on my walkway just outside our gate. Then decided to sketch/watercolor them. Just loving all the flowers available right now.

On Memorial Day Weekend, our local Newspaper published a photo of combat boots in front of a Flag--"Honoring Their Service & Sacrifice." I liked it and decided to try and draw it in my W/C Journal...This was the result. God Bless our Troops!

Contour Drawing

I tried a 'contour drawing' of a couple of my plants...this means you draw with one continous line, not lifting the pen, and possibly going over a spot to get it connected. It's a quick way of drawing something that you want to sketch, but are not trying to do a 'masterpiece.'
