Drawing in Church

Our Choir is on "Summer Leave" until September--so our Director of Music has been planning several different combinations of people from our congregation to sing together. This morning, this group of young men sang so well together, I just had to put them down on paper...too bad you can't hear it :-)

Sketchbook Watercolor Journaling Class

I was in Petoskey last week for my Watercolor/Sketchbook Journaling Class with Catherine Carey. These are a couple of the sketches/wtrclrs that I did while we were there.
This is the Bay View Post Office.














This is the Charlevoix Lighthouse--just did this on my own...Sometimes my husband and I buy some Smoked Whitefish or Whitefish Pate' to take to a picnic table there and eat while watching the sights. People look for Petoskey Stones along this Beach. Have found a few myself.




Just "practicing" painting "what I see" This was a fern and also my sister-in-law's Vase/Jug that she had on a bookshelf. Thought it was interesting.

I sometimes "sketch" my Sermon Notes (then watercolor them when I get home). I thought I was the only one (adult) who had the urge to illustrate (drawing in Church) my thoughts. But then I saw someone else's "drawings in church" and decided I should post some of mine. Wish I had kept some that were tossed out. :-(

Butterflies and Asters

The Butterflies are out and about in the flowers these days. It 's difficult to get them to "land" long enough for a good picture or sketch. I had to buy myself a guide so that I could tell which are which :-)
