On our way home from the "Y" (gotta keep "fit" :-) I noticed the Blue Chicory has arrived along the roadsides. It actually is quite attractive colorwise--and it stands out among all the other weeds (?). I love watching for the different wildflowers that come and go along the roadsides. The "Roadside Lillies" (those orange ones that everyone calls tiger lillies) are just about finishing now.
About 15 years ago, a friend enouraged me to come to a watercolor class. That was the beginning of a hobby that I truly enjoy.
A few years later, I joined a "Watercolor Sketchbook Journal" class taught by Catherine Carey author of "A Petoskey Watercolor Journal." see: www.catherinestudio.blogspot.com/
Since then we have taken many trips and watercolored and journaled most of them.
My husband and I are now retired and we both enjoy ministering to people through our Church. He does Hospital visits and ministers to the elderly. I have found that sending people greeting cards with my simple watercolor sketches on them seem to be treasured.
God has greatly enriched our lives with Beauty and I like to show my gratitude by displaying His Glory in my art. I'm hoping that my watercolors bring joy to others, and praise and worship to our Creator. Marj. M.
