I finally did my "Title Page" in my new bound book. I had picked up a pinecone in the area where I had the Bookbinding Class and had never painted one...I decided to make it a part of my first page, since I made this book in September. Now I can "get on" with making my new "bound" book. I'm up to the spine part--and I'll need to go at it very carefully--I tend to rush ahead--So am trying to do it step by step the way Cathy wrote the instructions. It's quite exciting to make your own book.
About 15 years ago, a friend enouraged me to come to a watercolor class. That was the beginning of a hobby that I truly enjoy.
A few years later, I joined a "Watercolor Sketchbook Journal" class taught by Catherine Carey author of "A Petoskey Watercolor Journal." see: www.catherinestudio.blogspot.com/
Since then we have taken many trips and watercolored and journaled most of them.
My husband and I are now retired and we both enjoy ministering to people through our Church. He does Hospital visits and ministers to the elderly. I have found that sending people greeting cards with my simple watercolor sketches on them seem to be treasured.
God has greatly enriched our lives with Beauty and I like to show my gratitude by displaying His Glory in my art. I'm hoping that my watercolors bring joy to others, and praise and worship to our Creator. Marj. M.
